How gelatin is stored

11/04/2024

As a common biopolymer material, gelatin requires careful attention to the following aspects in dealers' storage management to ensure its quality and performance remain unaffected:

    1. Dry environment: Gelatin easily absorbs moisture; therefore, it should be stored in a dry environment to prevent moisture absorption. The humidity of the storage area can be controlled using a dehumidifier.

    2. Sealed packaging: Gelatin should be stored in tightly sealed containers or packages to prevent the entry of moisture and other airborne substances that may lead to product deterioration or performance degradation.

    3. Shaded storage: Avoid exposing gelatin to high temperatures or direct sunlight; ideally, the storage temperature should be below 25°C to prevent thermal degradation.

   4. Pollution prevention: During handling and storage, avoid contact with potential sources of pollution such as dust or grease.

   5. Original packaging preservation: Whenever possible, try to maintain gelatin in its original packaging since manufacturers typically use materials and designs suitable for long-term storage.

  6. First-in-first-out principle: To ensure the usage of fresh gelatin, implement an inventory management system based on the principle of first-in-first-out so that earlier purchased gelatin is sold or used first.

  7. Avoid long-term storage: Although gelatin has a certain shelf life, prolonged storage may still impact its performance negatively. Therefore, procure reasonable quantities based on demand while avoiding unnecessary long-term storage.

By implementing these measures mentioned above, dealers can effectively preserve the quality of gelatin and ensure optimal performance in subsequent applications.
